Home Defense Program - Level 1

Service Description

2 Hours | Technician Level | No Experience Required Level 1 is where every Gorget home defense student begins. Built for responsible civilians with little or no prior firearms training, this session covers the fundamentals on which everything else builds: safe handling, marksmanship basics, and a clear-eyed orientation to the use-of-force decisions that a defensive encounter demands. Students get hands-on, coached practice with Simunition training rounds before ever being scored, then fire a qualification course at close, known distances. The class also includes a home layout and family communication segment (safe rooms, codewords, roles for other household members) and a first introduction to shoot/no-shoot judgment through classroom decision drills, previewing the scenario-based training that comes next in Level 2. You'll leave with: a qualifying score on Simunition marksmanship, a working family communication plan, and a clear picture of what to do and whom to call in the moments after a defensive incident. Prerequisites: None. Signed waiver, closed-toe shoes, and Simunition PPE required (provided).
