The MARCH Sequence of Medical Care
MARCH: The Sequence That Decides Who Lives
Service Description
Most preventable deaths in a violent encounter are decided in the first few minutes, by whoever is standing closest. Not by how fast the ambulance arrives. This course closes that gap. Built on MARCH, the same casualty-care sequence developed for combat trauma and now standard across law enforcement and tactical medicine, it trains students to run the full decision sequence under pressure and apply the four interventions that stop preventable death in the field: tourniquets, pressure bandages, wound packing, and chest seals. Gorget does not teach MARCH as a checklist to memorize. Students leave able to make the sequence a decision, not a recitation, tested under a timer, and confirmed skill by skill before they walk out the door. What You'll Learn The MARCH sequence and why it's ordered the way it is: what kills fastest, treated first Tourniquet application, hasty and deliberate, including time-marking and reassessment Pressure bandage application for bleeding a tourniquet can't reach Wound packing with rolled and hemostatic gauze for junctional and deep-cavity bleeding Chest seal application, vented and non-vented, for penetrating chest trauma How to run the full sequence, not just isolated skills, on a moving, talking casualty under time pressure Who This Is For Law enforcement officers and responsible civilians. No prior medical training required. Classes run mixed, with pacing that covers fundamentals for civilian students while giving officers enough repetition to sharpen what they already carry. How It Runs Two hours. Hands-on from the first skill station. Every student touches every skill, gets evaluated under a timer, and is signed off on individually before the course ends. This isn't a lecture with a demonstration. It's repetition until the sequence holds up under stress. Students will also leave with all four of the interventions they are trained on.
